What is retort technology?

The retort technology is a modern method to ensure that a food product remains fresh for up to 2 years without using any preservatives. The cooked food is filled into aluminum pouches and then sealed. Subsequently, it is sterilized at high temperature and pressure inside a retort machine container. This process eliminates all food-spoiling microorganisms and prevents them from causing spoilage. Retorted products can be stored at room temperature without changing taste, appearance, or nutritional content. Thus, this effort will secure food security for people in war zone countries and during disasters.
