PORT KLANG, April 24 – A total of 12 tonnes of ready-to-eat (RTE) Qurbani meat have been shipped to northern Gaza via Jordan, as part of an ongoing humanitarian initiative.
The aid, valued at over RM540,000 is expected to benefit more than 36,000 families severely affected by the escalating humanitarian crisis in the region.
Malaysian celebrity and activist Faizal Tahir, who was present at the flag-off ceremony, expressed deep emotion as he witnessed the loading of containers filled with food aid destined for the Palestinian people.
“This is our form of jihad. Alhamdulillah, I am truly moved and overwhelmed today to see these containers filled with food packs ready to be sent to our brothers and sisters in need,” he said.
Also present at the event was fellow public figure, Catriona Ross.
According to a statement by the organisers, the food shipment is part of a broader effort to deliver continuous aid to communities impacted by the prolonged conflict in Gaza.
“MyFundAction deeply appreciates the support and collaboration from all parties who have contributed to the realisation of this mission,” the statement read.
The humanitarian expedition is scheduled to begin on May 5, departing from West Port Klang to the Port of Aqaba, Jordan. Upon arrival, the aid will be handed over to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) for onward distribution by MyFundAction’s local partners in Gaza.
